David's publications include "An Unspeakable Sadness: The Dispossession of the Nebraska Indians (Lincoln and London: University of Nebraska Press, 1994) which won the J.B. Jackson Prize for Best Book in North American Human Geography with appeal to a popular audience (also nominated for a Pulitzer Prize).
