The Shelton Cemetery is located just across the Hall County line. The
Shelton Cemetery Association on July 29, 1885 bought 10 acres of land
from Edward and Sarah Oliver for $200.00. The tract was surveyed within
a month after purchase and divided into 567 numbered lots. An
additional 2.5 acres were deeded to the Cemetery Association in 1959 for
$750.00.
