In 1864 Nat & Robert Martin were cutting hay when they were attacked by Sioux Indians - the brothers were pinned together by an arrow piercing their arms & legs while fleeing on horseback. Both survived and farmed in the area for many years. Marker erected by Nebraska State Historical Society.
